How to use CBD oil? Drops, absorption and storage

Using CBD oil is not complicated, but a few things make the difference between fumbling around and doing it neatly. A practical guide to dropping, storing and shelf life. This is about use, not about effects, and is not medical advice.

Dropping it under the tongue

The most common method is sublingual, meaning under the tongue. You place a few drops under your tongue, hold them there for about half a minute to a full minute, and then swallow. Through the lining of the mouth, part of it is absorbed faster than when you swallow straight away. Give the bottle a brief shake before use, so the oil is well mixed.

How many drops?

Here we keep it honest and careful: start low and build up gently, so you can notice for yourself what suits you. This is expressly not medical dosing advice and not a treatment. The percentage on the bottle determines how much CBD is in each drop, so a higher percentage means more CBD per drop. If in doubt, or if you take medication, check with your doctor first.

Storage and shelf life

Store CBD oil cool, dry and dark, with the cap firmly closed. Light, heat and air are the biggest enemies of freshness. A cupboard out of the sun is fine, the fridge is usually not needed. Check the label for the best-before date and use the oil up before then.

What else to keep in mind

If you do not yet know how you react to CBD, be cautious about driving the first few times. Do not casually combine CBD with medication without checking with your doctor. And as with everything we sell: this is for adults aged 18 and over.
