5%, 10%, 20%: every bottle of CBD shows a percentage, but what does it actually mean? A practical explanation, so you know what you are buying. No health promises, just the numbers.
What does the percentage tell you?
The percentage indicates the concentration of CBD in the bottle. 10% means that roughly 10% of the contents consists of CBD. The higher the percentage, the more CBD there is per drop. So it is a measure of the strength of the oil, not a promise about how it works.
From percentage to milligrams
If you want to know more precisely, you convert it to milligrams. A 10 millilitre bottle with 10% CBD contains roughly 1000 milligrams of CBD in total. Divide that across the drops in the bottle and you know roughly how much CBD there is per drop. A good label often lists this already.
A higher percentage is not automatically better
More is not necessarily better, it is simply more concentrated. A high percentage means you take in the same amount of CBD with fewer drops, not that it works more strongly in any promise-like sense. Factor it into the price: look at the milligrams per euro, not just the number on the label.
